Going back to the Lake District for this shot – to my shame, I can’t for the life of me remember where this was, but I’m going to say close to Windermere based on the folder it’s in! I found this waterfall after a long climb up through a beautiful forest. It was a really dull day, and I wasn’t getting a lot of shots. I sat there for a good while, messing with different settings, experimenting with how to shoot the water to capture a bit of texture (all that geeky photography stuff), when this single beam of light blazed into the clearing. It was sublime. It was gone within a couple of minutes – I think I took about a hundred shots while it was there.
