Tomie’s Wood
May 1, 2013 by phil | AutumnWhenever I’m in the forest, 9 times out of 10, I’m on my own. Sometimes that’s beautiful, wandering around in my own world, but more often than not, I can’t help wondering why more people don’t visit these magical places. Tomie’s Wood is a great example. This is one of the few remaining slivers of original, primordial oak forest which once covered Ireland. It is a truly wonderful place. I’ve been to it three times, for a few hours at a time, and have seen 5 or 6 people in total. If you’re ever in Killarney – treat yourself!
