We were driving through the countryside yesterday and noticed this strange colour on the horizon. As we got closer, this surreal landscape came into focus – entire forests and vineyards blackened and charred. Apparently the heatwave brought wildfires last week. There was something strangely beautiful about the orange and charcoal hillsides, little flashes of green here and there promising recovery.
