A very old friend and I got up ridiculously early and spent an hour trudging up this mountain in knee high snow. Was beautiful. Fell into a few drifts, and got shouted at like children by a very angry Garda on the way back down (we….missed the ‘Road Impassable’ signs when we drove up to the Sallygap!) We caught the sun as it crested this great slab of cloud, and the dawnlight lit up the whirling snow in pinks and purples. It was -5 or -7 in the howling wind, we couldn’t feel our hands or feet after a while, but it was worth it. Felt like another world up there. Got about 700 shots, so I’ll be posting a few more over the next few days!
