Forests are beautiful on every level, for me. I love the big, sweeping wide shots, bathed in slanting light – but this trip has really shown me that when you get right down on the ground (hello ants and spiders!), tyou can find the same sense of wonder in the smallest details. This little spindle of a plant is about 5cm tall.
