In all my years visiting the Lake District, there are certain places I have never seen in sunlight. Buttermere is one – it’s an amazing lake, and I would love to be there for dawn. It’s just always too far from the B&B! I caught a glimmer of it one year, setting off the red in these amazing pines – they were like Sentinels, lined up at the Lake’s edge.
