I always try to visit Wray Castle at dawn, but it wasn’t until my third trip to the Lake District that I finally saw the morning mist rising. It’s beautiful, watching clouds rising out of the forest as yesterday’s rain burns off. I called this ‘The Raven’ because of the lonely looking fella perched on top of this amazing dead tree. It’s probably a crow, realistically, but Raven sounded better : ) This was just amazing dawnlight – it almost looks photoshopped, but bar some sharpening and a touch of contrast, this is how it looked. Magic light. The tree is gone now, unfortunately.
