Set the alarm for Silly O’ Clock and got up and out before I knew anything about anything. I had no idea what I’d find, so I just pointed the car east and set off down the winding roads, passing little oak forests and rolling fields before dawn. I ended up here just as the sun crested – everything awash in that beautiful blood red which only lasts a few minutes. Love France!
