Kilmacurragh
June 5, 2018 by phil | SpringThis place is like a secret I want to keep, and that’s not right. Everyone should know about it. Kilmacurragh is a magical spot – an Arboretum in south Wicklow few seem to know about. I sometimes wonder do they want to keep it that way down there – there’s never too many people, and if you meet someone you know, you get a kind of ‘Oh, you know about this place too?‘ raised eyebrow and smile. In April, the Rhododendron bushes are covered in hand-sized pink flowers – and they soar up to twenty feet overhead. The grounds are magical, full of nooks and crannies and secret glades to have a picnic or play hide and seek with the kids. It’s a sublime place.
